Our clients opening a new boutique hair salon in Teignmouth wanted a floor that captured the town’s coastal heritage. They needed a design that felt sophisticated and established, rather than modern and clinical. At the same time, the floor had to be exceptionally durable and easy to clean, handling the constant demands of a busy professional environment.
The Design: They selected the Acanthus design from our Coliseum collection. This pattern features an intricate, Moroccan-inspired tile motif in shades of deep navy, slate grey, and chalk white. This design was perfect for anchoring the space, which they paired with custom deep-blue velvet styling chairs and large, statement mirrors.
The Installation: The key was creating a seamless flow. Our expert fitting team used the large, continuous Acanthus pattern to make the space feel unified. By running the pattern right to the edge of the large mirror walls, we visually expanded the salon’s floor plan. Precision fitting was also crucial to ensure the complex geometry remained perfectly aligned around the chrome bases of the heavy styling chairs.
The Result: The Teignmouth salon now boasts a floor that functions as a beautiful, durable tapestry. It offers all the charm of historical encaustic tiles, but with the practical, stain-resistant, and non-slip benefits of advanced LVT.
