The sub-floor beneath should be smooth, dry and level and we stock a large selection of the following to achieve this:

Underlay

We sell a wide range of foam, rubber and felt underlays which deliver varying levels of performance. In preparing a floor different depths are available which are suitable for every type of carpet.

We also have super high density sound reducing rubber underlays for wood and laminate flooring specifically for use with underfloor heating.

Entrance matting

An effective entrance mat will significantly reduce the amount of dirt and moisture entering the home, which in turn will help to improve the appearance of internal floor coverings.

Plywood

A well-prepared subfloor is often the most important part of a flooring installation, particularly when it comes to luxury vinyl flooring like Karndean.

Karndean recommend the use of a minimum 6mm flooring grade plywood. Sometimes the finish of the flooring overlooks the condition of the floor beneath it.

We stock both Karndean and F. Ball adhesives.

A levelling screed is a top layer of material laid over the subfloor to obtain a defined level to receive the final flooring.

We sell a range of levelling screeds and damp proof membranes (DPM) to ensure you get the best results.
